Yet another great artist from Krasnodar, Russia. SLP recently released a nice Dub Techno EP called Fluctuation on the Load And Clear netlabel. He’s also part of the Dubtarelka collective and released some very nice podcasts over at highsessions.net. You’ll also find his mixes with a complete tracklist at Mixcloud. For me this is just the perfect beat for the dawn of autumn. So so deep.
Being a long time fan of the basic_sounds blog I was quite excited to read that they have just started a netlabel. I’ve being listening to their first release by Bartek Kawul for the third time now and it gets better every time. They are planing to feature a new artist every month. I can’t wait to hear what’s coming next. Hope they manage to get an RSS-Feed running soon so staying up-to-date does not mean to check a bookmark every now and then. Anyway keep up your great work!
Qunabu.com is a netlabel from Poland who have released two very nice Dub Compilations: “Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Dub Band” and “Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Dub Band 2”. Although both releases are a few years old the music is timeless. Just a beautiful set of Dub, Dub Techno and Ambient tracks by artists I’ve never heard before except biodub who actually lead to this discovery. I hope Qunabu will continue their work. Recent releases are rare.
Tranquera from Brazil provide a wide-ranging podcast focused on Dubstep but also including Hip Hop, House, Techno and other genres. More than a year ago they released one of my favorite live sets by Rhythm & Sound. As you might expect the set mixes Dub and Reggae with Techno elements. It’s an instant classic. Enjoy!
