It’s been a while since I posted any music but just today I found out about the KOSMO netlabel from France by pure accident while surfing on SoundCloud the Echoes of Chord group. They recently released a very nice Dub Techno compilation “Vapors Of Dub” I listened to twice over the day. If you’re into it make sure to check it out. Other releases range from Minimal to IDM and Ambient. Enjoy.
Being a long time fan of the basic_sounds blog I was quite excited to read that they have just started a netlabel. I’ve being listening to their first release by Bartek Kawul for the third time now and it gets better every time. They are planing to feature a new artist every month. I can’t wait to hear what’s coming next. Hope they manage to get an RSS-Feed running soon so staying up-to-date does not mean to check a bookmark every now and then. Anyway keep up your great work!
P.Laoss from Schwerin, Germany grasped my attention a few weeks back. I was listening to his release on somnia and got curious about him. I really like the diversity of his music lurching between Tech House, Dub Techno and Ambient. He definitely knows his tools. Apart from his commercial releases he also published some tunes on Netlabels like Load and clear and no response. Make sure to check out his discography at Discogs.
Qunabu.com is a netlabel from Poland who have released two very nice Dub Compilations: “Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Dub Band” and “Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Dub Band 2”. Although both releases are a few years old the music is timeless. Just a beautiful set of Dub, Dub Techno and Ambient tracks by artists I’ve never heard before except biodub who actually lead to this discovery. I hope Qunabu will continue their work. Recent releases are rare.
Minimism from Barcelona host their Dubspace DJ-Mix series on the Mixotic Podcast. Right now there are Dubspace #1 and Dubspace #2 available - see above. But on his MySpace-Site he already announced the third installment of this series. Given that these mixes only consist of netlabel releases they are a good introduction to this amazing ecosystem. I also recommend to subscribe to the Mixotic Podcast (via iTunes). Their mixes span all genres of electronic music. So if you are in a curious mood make sure to check them out.
