Gus Gus / President Bongo / Pulse Radio Podcast

Somehow I never really got in touch with the music by GusGus. I remember listening to an earlier album which didn’t leave a mark with me. But recently I was checking my RSS-Feeds for my daily soundtrack and came across President Bongo - one part of GusGus. The name got my attention. ;) And it doesn’t matter to which DJ-Set you may listen. They are all just great. I really love his selection of tracks. My absolute Favorite is the Pulse Radio Set. Unfortunately sharing at SoundCloud is disabled on this set and to download it you’ll have to subscribe to their Podcast in iTunes. But make sure to do so. The track above is the last track of the set - an instant favorite. Below are two more sets you really should listen to.

Nicolas Jaar / Six Edits EP / Wolf + Lamb

Ok, I actually don’t know what to say right now. So far this day just a huge bunch of sh#t and I locked myself away - me, my laptop and some headphones. While flicking through my music I stumbled across the track “Time For Us” by Nicolas Jaar which got me interested right away. 30 browser tabs later I found myself dancing in front of my table. I found this! Needless to say - this music made my day. Just listen to the tracks “Nico’s Feelin’ Good” and “Stay In Love” and you’ll probably know what I’m talking about.

Nicolas, thank you so much for making these edits! And thanks to Wolf + Lamb for giving them away for free. You just found another advocate for your music. basic_sounds Netlabel

Being a long time fan of the basic_sounds blog I was quite excited to read that they have just started a netlabel. I’ve being listening to their first release by Bartek Kawul for the third time now and it gets better every time. They are planing to feature a new artist every month. I can’t wait to hear what’s coming next. Hope they manage to get an RSS-Feed running soon so staying up-to-date does not mean to check a bookmark every now and then. Anyway keep up your great work!

nbar / Podcast

nbar from Poland hosts a very nice podcast on SoundCloud. Actually I didn’t fully understand what or who nbar is - Podcast? Party? Spa? All of that? However make sure to check out his podcast series. The one by biodub is just one of many but this one sweetened my weekend working.

Carl Craig / “RA.200” Podcast

No introduction or any comment needed. Simply an awesome mix. I recommend subscribing to the Resident Advisor Podcast i.e. via iTunes. Every week they publish a new mix which then is only available for 4 weeks. Afterwards you’ll need to search the web and hope someone uploaded it somewhere. Soundcloud is most of time a very good starting point.
